Imagery VII.4 – Guys – Nazis

The whole of the fetish scene is about 'playing a part' for consensual pleasure, wearing a uniform (and a persona) which you take off. With a Nazi uniform, what is being used is the powerful imagery of the uniform, not the politics it represented. Do we condemn those who dress up as solders, prison officers, security forces or policemen and yet there are plenty of examples of atrocities being committed by such groups... even in the name of 'democracy'.

Further more, it is hypocritical of any leatherman to critics leather Nazi play as there can be no denying the link between the Nazi uniforms and the leather scene with its 'Tom of Finland' style i.e. tall boots, breeches, shirt, tie, tunic & caps that we all know and love. Indeed Tom's first sexual experiences was with German soldiers & officers on the blacked out streets of Helsinki during World War Two and in some of his drawings the figures represented are without doubt 'Germanic' in their attire. Any one who has read a book entitled 'the black leather jacket' will know it contains a whole chapter purely on the German influence from the 1930's & 1940's on leather apparel.

Wearing such a uniform is, for a gay man, a powerful way to destroy the power and hatred of the Nazi regime. A real Nazi fascist would be disgusted to the core of his being at the idea that a uniform he respected was being defiled by those he considered as 'sub human' for their own pleasurable ends. I feel I am taking something wicked and turning it on its head to give pleasure to those who consent to play in such scenes.
