Imagery IV – FIGURES II - Ines de Castro

When I was a child my mother used to tell me a kind of fairy tale, the history of Ines de Castro, the Queen that was crowned after her death by her loved King. All nobles and courtesans were obliged to kiss her skeleton hands by royal order.

A spooky tale, very spooky indeed.

Some years later, at school, while reading OS LUSÍADAS, by Camões, I recognised the tale. A strongly remarkable tale! (Coincidence or not my mother’s forename is Ines)
