MEMÓRIA: Isaac Julien
Isaac Julien is one of Britain's most innovative and provocative filmmakers, was my guest
on 1998 for the 2nd LGLFF.
Born in 1960, he comes from a black working-class East London background. He studied painting, film and has been involved, over the past ten years, with forging a new language around black representation, both as filmmaker and cultural critic.
His critical writing engages questions of de-essentializing black and gay subjectivities.
